117 undergoing free surgery

A total of 117 patients with various eye problems are undergoing three days free surgeries to restore their sights.
The exercise (from Monday, June 12 to Wednesday June 14) is ongoing at the Kwetire Polyclinic near Odumase in the Sunyani West Municipality of the Bono region.
The exercise was organized by the Suncity Group of Companies in Sunyani, in collaboration with friends eye center and mansusu investment Ltd under the theme: “Operation Restore Your Sight”.
Ten (10) patients, 8 males and 2 females within and outside the Sunyani East and West Municipalities had their eyes restored successfully on the day one of the free surgery exercise.
The 117 patients were booked for the surgery during the part one of the “Operation Restore Your Sight” conducted in February this year.
They were screened to determine and book patients who’s conditions required surgery but can not afford the cost.
A total of 630 patients underwent the four days thorough screening and the 117 were booked for ‘Cataract, Pterygium and Prosthesis surgeries.
Mr. Richard Asare, a beneficiary, after his successful surgery could not hide his joy and commended the organizer of the exercise for the kindness shown them.
A team of 9 eye Doctors, specialists and other supporting staff are performing the successful surgeries.
