“Our call has been necessitated by the incessant call of the people of the Constituency on Mr. Antwi to come out to contest for the seat as well as his commitment to the socio-cultural and economic development of people of the constituency and Bono region”.

According to him, SYDA over the past six months undertook an initiative to sample 2,100 people across various places within the Sunyani East Constituency and the findings were that 1,692 of the number sampled representing 80.5% of the total number desired change within the Sunyani East Constituency.

Mr. Akoto Snr said the people were with strong believes that Mr. Antwi is more capable of introducing something unique and monumental in the development of the Constituency and can position the city as the Bono Regional capital.

He added Mr. Antwi has proven beyond all reasonable doubt that he is a true agent of development for Bono people, particularly the Sunyani East Constituency.

Mr. Akoto Snr outlined the contribution of Mr. Antwi in terms of quality health care delivery, sports development, education, job creation, media development, youth development among others.

Mr. Antwi has high taste for quality, does not settle for mediocrity except the best and immediately steps in to restore hope when there seems to be no hope.

Contributions on Health

Some of his contributions for the benefit of people of Sunyani and Bono region includes several free surgeries he organized for the general public with his friends and partners and a medical outreach he led to offer free eye surgeries at Kwatire government hospital in the Sunyani West Municipality.

Mr. Akoto Snr said the Associations were with the view that lamentation is not enough especially when one have the opportunity to do something about the situation as a leader, for this reason, they are imploring Mr. Antwi to respond to our calls from the people and accept to contest for the Sunyani East Constituency Parliamentary seat.

“We are of the conviction that if given the opportunity to be the Member of Parliament, he would have stranger muscles and access to do much more to serve the interest of the people of Sunyani East”, Mr. Akoto Snr stated.

Adding, it is sad that a project Mr. Antwi conceived to build a health and social center for old men and women within Sunyani which he sought to replicate in places like Abesim, Yawhima, Atronie and their environs could not materialize because he was denied the needed documentary support from the Sunyani Municipal Assembly.

Mr. Akoto Snr said they believe that if Mr. Antwi is the Member of Parliament for the constituency, he can easily have the needed support to impact his people. “We are much more optimistic that he has the potential to go beyond the Member of Parliament in the nearest future and the time to take off is now”.
