The Black Stars forward, Jordan Ayew was optimistic the team would come back to give Ghana the needed three points in their second AFCON 2023 game against Egypt.

Addressing concerns raised in a press conference on Wednesday ahead of the crucial Egypt game, he said “We are ready to do our best to make Ghana happy”.

According to Jordan Ayew, “the most important thing for us is to come back and stay focus and show different qualities we have”.

He called for patience in evaluation of the Black Stars performance in their first game of the tournament, saying “I know Thursday is going to be a good day for us and Ghana”.

The Black Stars had their final training session about 6:30pm Wednesday and would take on Egypt at the 35 000 capacity Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan, on today at 20:00 GMT kickoff.

Egypt had 2-2 draw in their first AFCON2023 group B match against Mozambique while Ghana suffered a shocking 2-1 defeat against Cape Verde.

After the first matches of the group B table, the so-called underdogs of the group (Cape Verde) is leading with 3 points, followed by Mozambique and Egypt with 1 point each respectively, and Ghana 0.

Both football giants, Ghana and Egypt are hoping for nothing but a redemption in a must win for advancement into next stage of the AFCON 2023 competition in Cote D’Ivoire.
