GIF injects GHC140,000.00 worth of training equipments into SYDA

The Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund (GIIF) has supported the Sunyani Youth Development Association (SYDA) with training equipment worth GHC140,000.00 to improve their employable skills training opportunities.

Mr. Atta Akoto Senior, President of the Association announced last Tuesday and expressed a heartfelt appreciation to the GIIF in that regard.

Saying, the skills training tools and equipment would be a major boost for the training of youth in Sunyani and the entire Bono Region.

The support was received through H.E Ambassador George Kumi, a board member of GIIF and would be unveiled on Thursday, September 28 2023 to augment the training equipment.

Mr. Akoto Snr was speaking on Tuesday at the second SYDA graduation ceremony for 6 females and a male trainees who successfully underwent employable skills training in Fashion, Kente weaving and auto mechanic.

SYDA has facilitated 58 trainees to graduate already, making the total of 65 beneficiaries of the Association who have established themselves in business, he explained.

Mr. Akoto Snr added there are 10 Master Crafts Persons with 42 trainees currently undergoing three-year training in Fashion, Kente weaving, Smock weaving, Auto Mechanic, Hairdressing, Cosmetology, Aluminum Fabrication and bead Crafts.  

The Association also has other training modules such as wood Technology, bicycle repairs, solar Energy installation Technology and  catering and decor under its entrepreneurial Hub training.
