The Democratic and Constitutional Rule in Ghana is a great achievement and the  citizens must be proud and do all things possible to sustain it, the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has said.

The Commission therefore encouraged Ghanaian youth to do their ultimate best in their small ways and conners to help nation building.

The Commission was on Friday interacting with trainees of the Sunyani Youth Development Association (SYDA) as part of activities to mark this year’s Citizenship Education Week in Sunyani.

“Let’s Change our attitude and be patriotic where we are and ensure peaceful co-existence and tolerance”, Miss Marian Kusi Aboraah, a  Principal Bono Regional Civic Education Officer told the youth.

It was to recognize 30 years of the 1992 Constitution, on the theme: “30 Years of Consolidating Constitutional Democracy and Building National Cohesion; the role of Ghanaian child”.

The trainees were sensitized and given indepth knowledge on the Ghanaian Core Values  such as truthfulness, volunteerism and selflessness, integrity, hard-working, generosity, loyalty and spirit of patriotism.

It’s by so doing that you can be recognized, respected and fit into society, Miss Aboraah said.

They were also empowered to ensure accountability in their dealings, redouble efforts to end corruption and hold their leaders accountable in developmental processes.
