NCCE Sensitized Apprentices On Core Values Of Ghanaian Citizens

The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) on Thursday implored skills training apprentices to cooperate with the security agencies to protect lives and properties of the citizenry.

The Commission Sensitized trainees and masters of the Sunyani Youth Development Association (SYDA) on the “core values of a Ghanaian citizen”.

Mr. Peter Gyesi, the Deputy Bono Regional Director of the NCCE said the populace ought to be well informed about their role and duties as citizens of the country, no matter their levels and locations.

That would contribute to accelerating holistic nation building through sense of patriotism as one of the key factors every citizens must be abreast with as a responsibility, he added.

The education and sensitization covered topics such as sense of patriotism, hard work, respect for the elderly, respect one another and protection of public properties.

Other areas included environmental cleanliness, volunteer to be an active citizen, uncovering criminalities and distancing themselves from the use of drugs.

The sensitization was organized by SYDA and target beneficiaries were trainees in fashion designing, hair dressing, beauty and cosmetics, smock weaving, auto mechanics and others trades with apprentices.
