Kumasi, June 18, 2024 

The Islamic Mission Secretariat, in Ghana has implored leaderships of the African countries to help sustain the continent’s peaceful co-existence and abstain from all sort of vices harmful to their respective countries. 

The National President of the Secretariat, Sheikh Haroun Ahmed Appau described the 2024 as critical year in terms of Ghana’s general elections and pleaded with leadership of the country to have the nation at heart and shun activities and utterances that has the tendency to disrupt peace and democracy in the electioneering year.

Sheikh Ahmed Appau made the plea when he led the Muslim prayers during the Eid-Ul-Adha commemoration last Sunday at the Secretariat’s Headquarters in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional Capital. 

The Islamic Scholar explained the Eid-Ul-Adha was to mark the obedience and sacrifice Abraham made to God with his only son Ismail, and entreated all Muslims to submit their will to Allah like that of Abraham and his Son Ismail.

He advised all to care for the needy and every individual in the neighborhood.

In his prayers, Sheikh Amhed Appau invoked the favor of Allah, the Supreme Being for victory unto aspirants who has the country at heart.

He prayed for a peaceful elections for Ghana on December 7 and advised all Muslims, especially the youth not to be swayed away for the satisfaction of any selfish political desire. 

On her side, Hajia Mariam Suleiman Nketia, the General Secretary of the Women’s Wing of the Secretariat further advised the general public, especially people who have chance to speak on Air to be mindful of their utterances and choices of words.
