Be Mindful of your utterances and choices of words for peaceful elections 2024 – IMS


Kumasi, June 18, GNA – The Women’s Wing of the Islamic Mission Secretariat (IMS) has advised the general public, especially political figures, Radio and TV presenters and others who have chances to speak on Air to be mindful of their utterances and choices of words.

Hajia Mariam Suleiman Nketia, the General Secretary of the Women’s Wing gave the advice in an interview with the  News, stating that any form of action possible to cause national disturbances should not be entertained.

She said polite opinions, speeches, tolerance and peace messages were basic, but important means of maintaining and sustaining the nations democracy and peaceful co-existence.        

It was on the sidelines of the Secretariat’s Eid-Ul-Adha commemoration last Sunday at their Headquarters in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional Capital. 

Leading the Islamic prayers, the National President of the Secretariat, Sheikh Haroun Ahmed Appau, prayed for peaceful elections for Ghana on December 7, and advised all Muslims, especially the youth not to be swayed away for the satisfaction of any selfish political desire. 

Sheikh Amhed Appau invoked the favor of Allah, the Supreme Being for victory unto aspirants who has the country at heart.
