A one-storey building and ground floor apartment, together with AGL Gas filling station at Asufufu in the Sunyani Municipality had completely burnt beyond maintenance.

The fire, according to eyewitness sparked at 2115 hours of June 12 (Wednesday) night when a gas tanker was offloading gas into a tank at the station near a Peteosol filling station around the Nana Bosoma Royal Palace.

The gas filling station, (where the fire started) shared a wall with the affected house with nine occupants as at the time of the incident.

No casualty was reported, but all properties were destroyed by the fire including one taxi completely burnt.

Mr. Yaw Boakye, a tenant in the affected house and a witness told thefourlens.com News in an interview at the scene on Thursday morning.

He explained “we heard a strange sound around 9pm, and before we realized, the fire from the gas station engulfed the entire house”.

“The only thing I could pick was my phone, we have lost everything”, 

“When the fire personnel got to the scene around 11:50 there about in the night, their concentration was on the gas station so everything was completely destroyed”, he said.

It was alleged the fire thunders and Officers that came to the scene, but too late, were from Nsoatre, and Duayaw Nkwanta and Bechem in the Ahafo Region.

There was no Fire Officer at the scene as at 747 hours of Thursday morning when thefourlens.com  News got to the scene.
