The Dormaa Kyidom Divisional Council at Abesim, in the Sunyani Municipality has outdoored Barima Kumi Acheaw III, the Abesimhene, (Chief of Abesim) and Nana Ama Konama Biyaa, the Abesimhemaa (Queen Mother of Abesim).

Barima Acheaw III and Nana Biyaa are the Kyidomhene and Kyidomhemaa of the Dormaa Traditional Area respectively.

It was a colorful coronation and thanksgiving ceremony at Abesim to officially introduce the Chief and Queen to the public.

Nana Acheaw III, 33, is a Japan based Industrial Technician while Nana Biyaa, 46-year-old is a managerers, both enstooled early this year.

The event was witnessed by Traditional Authorities, including those from the Zongo Communities in the Sunyani enclave and others from both the Bono, Ahafo and Bono East Regions. 

Others in attendance were organizations, institutions, fun clubs, political figures, the Clergy, educationist, businessmen and Security Services and the general public.

The well attended gathering saw beautiful cultural displays, musical interludes and different performances.

Delivering the Sermon, Reverend Atta Dwumoh Appiah of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana implored Traditional rulers to combine both wisdom, God fearing, Tradition and Authority on their throne.

In his address, Barima Acheaw III, reiterated sanitation is next to Godliness, therefore advised all his subjects to endeavor to make sanitation a priority.

The Chief stressed sanitation is the iconic mark of the Dormaa Traditional Area and should be emulated by all Bono people and Ghana at large.

Barima Acheaw III added education is the pivot in development foundation, hence his outfit and elders of the Traditional area are putting measures in place to improve education in the area at all levels.

He pray togetherness and peaceful coexistence as one of the important tools for developing Abesim and surrounding communities.
