The Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA) on last Tuesday launched ‘Business in a box (Bizbox) project’ aimed at solving unemployment situations in Ghana.

It a self-employment opportunities project launched at the Eusbett International Conference center in Sunyani by the GEA and MasterCard Foundation. 

The Bizbox project is designed to support Ghanaian youth by way of  empowering them to start their own businesses for a better and brighter future. 

In a speech delivered on her behalf, Mrs. Kosi Yankey Ayeh, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GEA said the initiative targets transforming livelihoods and communities. 

She explained it would ensure 250,000 young men and women in Ghana are gainfully employed through self-job creation. 

Mrs. Yankey Ayeh said 70 percent of beneficiaries of the project would be females women with 10 percent targeting Persons with Disabilities.

She added the project would not only provide beneficiaries with the skills needed to start their business but also address the challenges of access market, tools and equipments to work with.

The Bono Regional Minister, Madam Justina Owusu-Banahene in her welcome address advised Ghanaian youth to embrace the opportunity to transform their lives and for the growth of the country.

“Be discipline, don’t be social liability, but rather be assert for mother Ghana” she added.
