Dormaa East Re-elects Paul Twum-Barimah By Popular Acclamation

Constituents, residents and New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates at the Dormaa East Constituency of the Bono region have re-elected Mr. Paul Apreku Twum-Barimah by popular acclamation. 

Unanimously, the NPP delegates endorsed the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP, Twum-Barimah) as Parliamentary Candidate for the 2024 general elections. 

Mr. Twum-Barimah faced no contender in the constituency to be the only candidate to filed the nomination for the NPP Parliamentary primaries.

At a popular acclamation by the party at Wamfie on Saturday, the Dormaa East District Capital, the delegates said Twum Barimah is “Our Hope, Our Pride and Our Future”.

The acclamation was performed by Mr. Asirifi Youmg Guggisberg, the Bono Regional Director of the Electoral Commission.

The colorful event was well attended by National, Regional and Constituency Executives, electoral area coordinators, polling station executives and sympathizers of the NPP.

Others were Chiefs, Queens, the Clergy, security and the general public.

Addressing the ecstatic delegates after his confirmation, Mr. Twum-Barimah thanked the party and people of the constituency for their trust, confidence and approval of his candidature to represent them again in Parliament.

He reiterated his commitment to ensure Dormaa East sees overwhelmed development in all aspects of life, saying, development of Dormaa East Constituency is an evidence of works of the NPP. 

Mr. Twum-Barimah stated internal wranglings and petty squabbles would not do any good to the party.

According to Mr. Twum-Barimah, breaking the 8 is highly possible with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, hence, urged supporters to guard against tendencies that could bring division and narrow fortunes of the NPP in the coming crucial 2024 general elections.

Mr. Emmanuel Kofi Agyemang, the Dormaa East District Chief Executive, in his remarks charged supporters of the NPP to go out boldly to speak and sell the developmental works and achievement of the NPP to Ghanaians.

“Let’s do evidence based campaign”, he stressed.

Mr. Kofi Ofosu Boateng, the Bono Regional Secretary for the NPP thanked Chiefs, elders and delegates of Dormaa East for their trust in Twum-Barimah, saying, this would bring unprecedented holistic development to the area for the benefit of every single individual.
