The Ex-Black Stars player, John Paintsil has advised young persons who wants to become professional and successful footballers to be discipline, respect, hard work and time conscious.

These he stated “are basic, but very important traits to help you go higher in the football career”.

Mr. Paintsil was speaking to them on Sunday at Jama (Bui), in the Bamboi District of the Savannah Region in his closing remarks after a week-long football gala to give chances and opportunities to Ghanaian children in the area who have passion for football. 

The tournament was organized by the Bui Power Authority (BPA) in  collaboration with the John Paintsil Football Academy (JPFA) to give platforms to young and talented persons below the ages of 18 to showcase their talents and be given opportunity in their football career.

The “BPA-JPFA 2023 Champions” was the second edition of the tournament and the John Paintsil tournament select side went on finals against Retired Ghana Black Star Players.

Five (5) fantastic players are selected after each tournament to join the JPFA in Accra.

Safo Wonder, Torkornu Obel, Abonjuah Ernest, Akori Kelvin and Nyua Forester were selected for the JPFA at the end of the second edition.

Mr. Paul Abugiri, the Community Relations Manager of the BPA said the tournament was also to improve the relationship between the BPA and their operational communities.

He said the BPA is committed to enhancing the good relationship, peaceful co-existence and livelihoods sustainability of the people in the area.
