The Sunyani Youth Development Association (SYDA) is preparing its second batch trainees for the National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) grade (1) examination in March this year.

They are seven (7) candidates, a male from the auto mechanic department and 6 females from the fashion department (sewing and smock weaving) who have successfully completed their registration process.

The candidates on Tuesday sat for first practical mock examination conducted by management of the Association as part of preparations towards the NVTI examination.

According to management, the candidates are second batch trainees of the SYDA Integrated Sewing Project inaugurated in 2020 with funding support from the Australian Government.

“This is the first mock out of at least three mock examinations they would sit for, aimed at adequately preparing them for the external NVTI exams”, Nana Akomea Sakyi, the secretary of SYDA told thefourlens.com.

He said the mock would help improve the candidates understanding, time management and boost their confidence level.

Thefourlens.com gathered that a total of 46 trainees of the Association, including first batch trainees from their bead craft department graduated in the year 2021.

In 2022, the Association’s Master Craftsmen (trainers) were prepared for the Proficiency one (1) of the NVTI examination and all those who took part had distinction, Mr. Atta Akoto Senior, President of the Association revealed.

He expressed satisfaction in the performance and seriousness of the trainees and was optimistic they would do well in the external exams.
