All set for SYDA to graduate first batch of Integrated Sewing Project trainees.

The Sunyani Youth Development Association (SYDA) has set to graduate the first batch of its “Integrated Sewing Project” trainees and induct freshers on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.

The graduands comprises of three (3) females from the Fashion Department, three (3) females from the Textile Hand Weaving Department and a male from the Auto Mechanic Department.

The Association also ensured the passing out trainees sat for the 2023 National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) exams and pass.

The Association in 2020 launched the “SYDA Integrated Sewing Project” in its quest to give the unemployed youth sources of livelihood.

The Project with funding support from the office of the Australian High Commission in Ghana was designed to provide the youth with value chain employable skills. 

It aimed at providing training in dressmaking, bead crafts, textile hand weaving (smock), carpentry, hairdressing, auto mechanics, Sola energy technology, cosmetology and others. 

The Association through it services is poised to contribute to the attainment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly, goal 1, 2, 5, 8 and 10.
