CUG, HITA Donates Hospital Beds

Inadequate equipment is one of the challenges at the Sunyani Regional Hospital, Mr. Adams Mengu Umar, the Deputy Administrator of the Hospital has said.
He is therefore appealing for more sectorial collaboration and support in diverse ways to improve the infrastructure and human needs of the Hospital soon to become a Teaching Hospital.
He made the appeal in an interview with the media at the Catholic University of Ghana (CUG), Fiapre, near Sunyani on the sidelines of hospital beds donation from the University.
The CUG presented 60 beds to four hospital and health centers namely the Fiapre health Center, SDA hospital, Sunyani Municipal and the Regional Hospitals to help improve quality heath care services delivery.

The University donated the beds in collaboration with Health Care Information Technology for Africa (HITA), a nonprofit organization based in Germany.
HITA aimed at supporting the training of professional health personal in Ghana and Africa through logistics, equipments and trainers support for quality health care services delivery.
In all, 180 beds would be presented to hospitals and health centers in the Bono region, Professor Daniels Obeng Ofori, the Vice-Chancellor of CUG assured and urged beneficiaries to take good care of the equipments for the intended purpose.

On behalf of the beneficiary facilities, Mr. Umar thanked the University and HITA for the kind gesture and promised proper maintainance culture.
