Two NGOs Trained Over 250 Children On Adolescent Health

A non governmental organization (NGO), Apex Community Aid (ACAiD) together with Compassion International has trained more than 250 children below the ages of 15 on adolescent health.

The NGOs are into building the capacity of communities to promote their total well-being of the young people, their environment and boost their self-confidence for them to be free from molesting.

They were selected from different churches in the Bono region for the training and were supported in terms of food, hospital bills and school fees payment. 

Mr. Dennis Owusu, the “True Love Wait” project Director at Dormaa Child Development Centre told thefourlens.com in an interview over the weekend.

It was on the sidelines of a symposium organized in Sunyani to boost the confidence of the children and give them the platform to exhibit their individual talents.

Mr. Owusu said the training was in collaboration with the churches and designed to empower the children to make informed decisions about their reproductive health.

Mr. Victor Bioko Nartey, the ACAiD project consultant and the Monitoring and Evaluation specialist, Bono region said the started in March 2022  were from 14 churches forming a cluster. 

It is being implemented through facilitators who go from churches to churches to train the children about their social lives, their sexual health and self-esteem.
