Suncity Medical Outreach: Seven Discharged After Successful Surgeries

Seven (7) persons have so far been discharged after successful surgeries performed in the ongoing Suncity Medical Outreach exercise at the Sunyani Municipal Hospital.

They were all males who went under hernia and hydrocele  auguries on the day-one of the Suncity medical outreach exercise on Wednesday, October 26.

This is according to records made available to thefourlens.com when visited the theatre at about 1500 hours of Thursday, October 27, on the day-two of the medical outreach exercise.

The safe and discharged included seven and nine year-old boys (names whitheld), pupil of some Basic schools in the Sunyani Municipality including the New Dormaa SDA Basic school.

The two boys from different families, according to their single parents were battling hydrocele and hernia ailments since birth and couldn’t afford the cost of surgery until this opportunity came their way.

The 2022 Suncity Medical Outreach is an annual exercise been organized by Suncity group of companies, through Mr. Ransford Antwi, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a Sunyani based Suncity Radio.

It is a free surguries for people with critical health conditions such as Fibroid, Hydrocele, Hernia, Ovarian Cyst, breast cancer, cervical cancer, prostate and others that requires specialists for surgery.

The exercise started Wednesday 26 and expected to end Friday 28 October 2022.

Dr. Robert Arko, the Medical Superintendent and surgical specialist at the Sunyani Municipal Hospital was leading a team of Doctors and medical specialists numbering about 60 for the exercise.

The Doctors and specialists conducting the exercise were from Ho and Tamale Teaching Hospitals, Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, the Sunyani Municipal and Regional Hospitals, Berekum Holy Family Hospital and other Hospitals in the Bono, Bono East and Ahafo regions.

Further records available to thefourlens.com were that, the theatre had so far attended to 13, seven (7) and two (2) cases of hernia, fibroid and hydrocele respectively.

Many were people, including students sighted by thefiurlens.com in a waiting cue from the main O.P.D to the theatre room for their surguries.

Some beneficiaries of the exercise who spoked with thefourlens.com expressed utmost gratitude to the initiator (Mr. Ransford Antwi) and organizers of the exercise to save lives.
