Keep eye on your children, prevent them from social vices – G2 Foundation to mothers

Ms. Gifty Nyarko, the Sunyani West Municipal Physical Development Planning Director has implored mothers to keenly monitor their children and wards to prevent them from peer influences that could lead them to indulge in social vices.

Addressing a gathering over the weekend at Odumase, she stated the role mothers and parents could play in nation building includes guiding their children and wards to grow with moral uprightness and become responsible future leaders.

Ms Nyarko is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of G2 Foundation, a Ghana based Non-governmental organizations, a Ghana based charitable organization into the welfare of vulnerable women, children, orphans, widows and persons with Disabilities.

She gave the advise at Odumase, the Municipal capital in the Bono region at a social gathering organized for women and children.

It was to encourage the parents to take up the challenge and responsibilities to ensure their children were not found among perpetrators of social vices.

According to Ms Nyarko, most children copy attitudes and behaviors of their peers, therefore advised parents not to leave their children anyhow without the mother knowing their whereabouts and exactly what they are doing.

She observed ensuing that the children are with their books when at home and also assigning some basic household duties to them would help keep the child from loitering around or joining peers to engage in unproductive activities.

Ms Nyarko emphasized parents should live examplary lives for their children to emulate, saying do not leave your child at home when going to church.
